An earthy invitation into the soulful world of mezcal, where tradition meets wild complexity.
A Family Affair
Crafted in the high-altitude hills just outside San Dionisio, this mezcal is a true family affair. The Vasquez family, generations-deep in Zapotec tradition, distill this spirit with the kind of care that can’t be faked. The ensamble (blend) is 70% cultivated Espadín and 30% wild Cuishe, a partnership of opposites. The Espadín brings sweet roasted agave and gentle smoke; the wild Cuishe adds intrigue with green herbs and wet stone.
On the nose, expect soft smoke, sage, and a mineral breeze. The palate is balanced and smooth, earthy with a touch of vegetal brightness. The smoke never dominates. This is an ideal gateway into mezcal: accessible without compromise, soulful without pretense.
How to Enjoy
An excellent, well-balanced mezcal for both sipping and cocktails. Try it in a Mezcal & Tonic or simply neat.
