This is a dry, electric echo from America’s wine-soaked past.
A Taste of History
Madeira was once the wine of presidents and revolutionaries, and this bottle brings that legacy roaring back to life. Part of The Rare Wine Co.’s brilliant Historic Series, this Charleston Sercial is a liquid time capsule. Crafted with Vinhos Barbeito from Sercial, the island’s driest grape, and aged slowly in warm attic casks, the result is lightning in a glass.
The nose is all citrus peel and sea spray. The palate is bone-dry and bracing, with electric acidity and a savory, salty minerality that jolts the palate.
How to Enjoy
This is the ultimate aperitif. Serve chilled alongside oysters, salted nuts, hard cheeses, or clear soups.
