Amaro Averna is what Sicilians pour when words aren’t enough. Born in Caltanissetta in 1868 from a secret Benedictine recipe, this velvety, bittersweet liqueur is a love letter to island life. The nose is inviting: bitter orange and licorice layered with sage and rosemary. The palate is rich and rounded, where sweet caramel gives way to a gently bitter citrus finish. It’s full-bodied without being heavy, complex but comforting.
Crafted from an infusion of Mediterranean roots, herbs, and citrus peels, what began as a personal tonic has become a symbol of Italian warmth and generosity.
How to Enjoy
