A soulful Oaxacan classic that is complex, clean, and hauntingly beautiful. A cultural heirloom you can sip.
A Masterclass in Balance
Chichicapa is a map, a memory, and a masterclass in balance. Crafted in the remote, high-altitude village of San Baltazar Chichicapa by Zapotec maestro Faustino Garcia Vasquez, this is an origin story in liquid form. It's a foundational bottling in Del Maguey's pioneering "Single Village" series, which introduced the world to mezcal’s sense of place.
Mature Espadín agave is slow-roasted, crushed by a horse-drawn tahona, and wild-fermented. The nose is gently smoky, kissed with citrus peel and mint. The palate is viscous and full-bodied, opening with ripe fruit and citrus that gives way to a savory, earthy undercurrent. The finish is clean, long, and mesmerizing.
How to Enjoy
A mezcal for the thoughtful drinker. Sip neat to appreciate the delicate balance of fruit, earth, and smoke.
