The warm 2017 vintage gave this wine immense concentration: dark cherry, baked plum, and blackberry folded into layers of violet, leather, and sweet tobacco. The palate is opulent and commanding, with a muscular frame of fine tannin.
Flaccianello is the crown jewel of Fontodi’s cellar, the result of ruthless selection from the estate’s oldest vines. It sees 24 months in new French oak, adding dimension and structure. This is a wine for the long haul.
